by Bob on June 5, 2012 in ankylosing spondylitis and diet
Thanks to Charlie for sharing his story. Here it is in his own words: Symptoms started for me when I was 25, seven years ago, with what felt like a pulled hamstring. Like many AS sufferers I thought at first that this was some sort of injury and just waited for it to heal. Instead, [...]

Anklylosing Spondylitis and Diet: Best Damn Pot Roast
by Bob on January 29, 2012 in ankylosing spondylitis, ankylosing spondylitis and diet
This is seriously my favorite pot roast recipe ever. I’ve adopted a recipe I originally found on the great Mark Sisson’s website and have made it my own. The spice rub is Mark’s, but the rest is my own take. Give it a try and you’ll never look at pot roast the same way again. [...]
Ankylosing Spondylitis and Diet: Walnut Honey-Mustard Salmon
by Bob on January 16, 2012 in ankylosing spondylitis, Diet
For those of you who think that your dietary cure to Ankylosing Spondylitis has to be a long, boring story filled with dry-as-sand chicken breast and iceberg lettuce or bacon and eggs every day I beg to differ. I honestly don’t get bored on this diet and you shouldn’t either. Here’s a really easy recipe [...]

Keep Your Balls in Check
by Bob on January 9, 2012 in ankylosing spondylitis, Diet
There is a tendency to TRY EVERYTHING when searching for a cure for ankylosing spondylitis. That’s fine in theory, but if in executing this idea you try everything at once then how will you know for sure which single thing is working? Having 5 new balls in the air all of a sudden is difficult [...]
Diet Can Cure Disease
by Bob on December 12, 2011 in ankylosing spondylitis, Diet
Many people who suffer from ankylosing spondylitis stumble on this website as they search for alternatives to powerful and potentially harmful drugs like Humera, Remicade, and painkillers. I often find myself answering email inquiries from confused AS patients asking a version of the same question: Is this for real? Can diet really cure my disease? [...]
Half a cow
by Bob on October 6, 2011 in ankylosing spondylitis
I was listening to the radio while driving the other day and heard a story about how one of our biggest exports here in Colorado is beef. Seems several Asian countries just can’t get enough of the stuff. I’m with them. Just last week we took delivery of an entire side of grassfed, local, Colorado [...]
About this website
My name is Bob Connors and I have successfully treated my autoimmune disease, ankylosing spondylitis, using a No-Starch diet. Why not use your seemingly awful diagnosis (incurable genetic disorder...fun!) as an opportunity to realize your own optimal health? I'm 100% medication-free and am using diet alone to control my AS. I've become stronger and healthier than I ever was before my diagnosis by adhering to a whole foods (if you can't kill it or pick it, don't eat it!) diet and healthy lifestyle. If you have spinal fusions then unfortunately the damage is irreversible, but I'm living proof that diet can be used to avoid any further flares. So, in effect, you will have cured yourself of AS. Read on and feel free to email with any questions, or submit a question above in the "General Questions" tab and I'll answer asap. I honestly see my AS diagnosis as net positive on my life. Good Luck! Bob Connors bobconnors@gmail.com
